Special Counsel Madia joins Equipment Finance Connect

Mehul Madia, special counsel at law firm Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton’s Washington office, will join Equipment Finance Connect 2025 to discuss best practices for dealers and lenders to navigate the modern compliance landscape in a presentation on Thursday, May 15, at 9:45 a.m. Mehul-Madia

The conference takes place May 14-15 at the JW Marriott Nashville Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.

Madia will join Jean Noonan, partner at law firm Hudson Cook, for the session “Navigating the Regulatory Compliance Landscape: Lender and Dealer Perspectives,” where they will discuss:  

  • How equipment dealers and lenders can protect customer data to remain in compliance with the FTC’s Safeguards rule; 
  • Navigate fair lending rules; and  

Before joining Sheppard Mullin in January 2024, Madia was in private practice and served as special assistant to the U.S. attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia as well as a senior legal adviser to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s associate director of supervision, enforcement and fair lending. He is a member of the South Asian Bar and National Asian Pacific American Bar associations and is a fellow of the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity.  

Equipment Finance Connect features two days of networking and educational sessions focused on best practices to enhance finance operations. Sessions include technology demos, roundtable discussions on optimizing finance and insurance portfolios, best practices in strategic planning, and panel discussions on advancing technology and enhancing finance operations.
