Equipment Finance News is pleased to announce that Oakmont Capital Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President Daryn Lecy will join Equipment Finance Connect 2025 as a panelist to discuss how equipment financiers can use AI and other technologies to create a more successful business on Thursday, May 15, at 1:30 p.m.ET. 

The conference, which takes place May 14-15 at the JW Marriott Nashville in Tennessee, is the only event for both equipment dealers and lenders, and features two days of networking, technology demonstrations and educational sessions.

With more than 20 years of experience in the equipment finance industry, Lecy joined Oakmont in 2018. Prior to that, he served as vice president of operations at Stearns Bank’s equipment finance division. He has also served on the National Equipment Finance Association Board of Directors, including as president in 2020, and currently works on the Equipment Leasing and Finance Foundation’s Industry Future Council. 

Lecy will discuss tech strategies at a time when lenders are increasingly adopting AI for tasks such as credit scoring, loan approvals, fraud prevention, data processing and adhering to compliance requirements.  

Roughly 72% of lending institutions implement AI in 2024, up from 55% in 2023, according to software provider JumpGrowth. AI spending in the financial industry is projected to grow to $97 billion in 2027 from $35 billion in 2023, according to research firm Statista.
